Iranian Nuclear Program
As of 22 November, 2013, I must say I am not exactly a bouncing ball of joy when it comes to the Iranian nuclear issue. France, despite all their government's socialist shortcomings, is the only country involved in the P5+1 talks that is taking the Iranian regime for what it is.
I do recall reading that one of France's stated goals of its own nuclear weapons program was self-defence against terrorist regimes.

Re: Iranian Nuclear Program
Former top George W. Bush administration official Gen. Michael Hayden said on Thursday that unless Iran provides the West with extensive access to its suspected nuclear facilities — a concession the Islamic regime has strenuously refused — U.S. intelligence agencies will be unable to detect its development of a bomb. source: http://freebeacon.com/national-security/hayden-u-s-intelligence-likely-could -not-detect-iranian-bomb/
