World Oil Supply
One thing that we have neglected to discuss as of yet, at least in specificity, is how Muslims control most of the currently-accessible oil supply. Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Iran, Libya, and a few others as well, are energy superpowers in regards to oil. A declared war on Islam would create a massive increase in price of oil. This would mean higher prices on fuels and most things that need oil.
What solutions do we have to this?

We are going to run out of petroleum in 4 decades. If we power cars and trucks with compressed natural gas and use coal as a source of power for all other applications, these fossil fuels will last for about one century. These estimates are based on the assumption that third world countries will not become industrialized. If the third world countries become industrialized, we will run out of fossil fuels very quickly. When we run out of fossil fuels, the price of food will skyrocket, billions of people will starve to death, and illegal immigrants will trigger civil wars in the West.
If there are no major technological breakthroughs, nuclear reactors will become the main sources of electric power. Compared with other sources of power, the nuclear reactors have the advantages of arbitrarily high power density and very energetic fuel. The high power density means that small power plant can produce lots of power. Chemical and petroleum plants are more vulnerable to terrorism than modern nuclear reactors. Tectonic plates can carry nuclear waste deep under continents.
The high cost of energy will not cripple Western industries, but it will re-invigorate energy conservation and the search for safe, renewable sources of energy. I doubt the viability of wind turbines, photovoltaics, wave, tidal, and solar thermal power plants because they cannot reliably produce electricity when we need it. Biomass fuels are not viable because artificial fertilizers will become expensive. Geothermal power is more viable because it is immune to storms, and can produce electric power all day long. Unfortunately, the maximum amount of geothermal power that can be produced (2 TW) is miniscule when compared with the global power consumption (15 TW).

According to a Stanford study, fast breeder reactors have the potential to provide power for humans on earth for billions of years, making this source sustainable. But "because of the link between plutonium and nuclear weapons, the potential application of fast breeders has led to concerns that nuclear power expansion would bring in an era of uncontrolled weapons proliferation".Thorium-fuelled thermal breeder reactors such as LFTR also have the potential to satisfy the global energy needs for hundreds of thousands of years, while offering high proliferation resistance compared to uranium-fuelled breeders.
